As a Senior Commodity Buyer, you are responsible for the procurement of one or more assigned commodities – with the goal of achieving the optimal balance of cost, quality, and delivery reliability. Together with your stakeholders, you develop the relevant commodity strategy, translate it into concrete objectives and action plans, and drive its execution in line with our corporate goals.
The position will be based in HQ Offices in Hannover, Germany.
What you will do
Strategic sourcing
You drive all strategic sourcing activities – from spend and supply market analysis, benchmarking, RFI/RFP and should-cost analysis, through to negotiation, business cases, and contract award.
Commodity strategy
You develop the regional category strategy in line with our processes and corporate objectives – and implement it.
Supplier management
You evaluate supplier performance, build strategic partnerships, and further develop existing relationships.
Contracts & terms
You negotiate and implement supplier contracts and optimize payment terms with a view to regional and corporate goals.
Cost reduction
You drive cost reduction initiatives and actively contribute to cross-functional cost reduction and new product launch projects.
Continuous improvement
You lead standardization and improvement initiatives and support the maintenance of our procurement systems (SAP, SRM, e-procurement).
Compliance
You live and promote adherence to our Procurement and Corporate Ethics policies and represent your area in internal and external audits.
What makes you a good fit
Commercial and/or technical education; Bachelor's degree required
Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Procurement (preferred), Sales, Program Management, or a related field.
Solid expertise in Category Management and Strategic Sourcing as well as modern purchasing practices
Strong negotiation skills and confident supplier relationship management
Strong in market and data analysis, project management, and stakeholder management
Knowledge of European laws and regulations; experience with e-procurement systems is a plus
Business-fluent English; a second language (ideally German) is desirable
- Strong communication skills, creativity, a drive for innovation, and genuine team orientation
