Preventative Maintenance (PM) - Power Frame

Under general supervision and in conformance with plant policies and procedures, perform hands-on mechanical and electrical systems repair, maintenance, reprogramming and installation to production equipment and support systems in a leaded manufacturing facility.
Primary Duties
- Complete PM activities in the online work order management system.
- Diagnose problems, repair, adjust and maintain production equipment and machinery to ensure reliability and efficient day-to-day operations.
- Work with shift supervisors, lead operators and machine operators to test and inspect grid regularly, and identify issues affecting quality and production.
- Make periodic checks of machines and equipment and perform preventive maintenance to avoid unexpected downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair general mechanical and electrical components and equipment.
- Collaborate with external vendors in the repair and servicing of production equipment.
- Work well under pressure to repair equipment quickly.
- Read and understand electrical, equipment manuals, pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Work with High Performance teams for continuous improvements
- Keep work areas clean and orderly following 5S procedures
- Strictly adhere to all plant safety rules
- Take active part in group meetings to maintain safety, quality, and increase productivity and morale
- Respond to afterhours maintenance calls and come in as needed on an “on call” basis
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must have at least 4 years previous experience with machine maintenance and repair in a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of machine shop tools including micrometer, veneer calipers, dial and depth indicator micrometers, and hand tools
- Must have a learner mentality – willing to increase scope and knowledge of the position
- Strong team player
- Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing, leaded environment requiring PPE to include respirators
