The Role

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the plant engineering team and driving the execution of capital projects, manufacturing improvements, automation initiatives, and operational excellence programs. This position ensures the reliability, efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes while aligning engineering activities with business objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team, including process, manufacturing, automation, controls, and project engineers.
  • Manage capital investment (CAPEX) projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and EHS teams to support plant performance objectives.
  • Oversee manufacturing process optimization, facility upgrades, and equipment installations.
  • Establish engineering standards, best practices, and project management methodologies.
  • Support capacity planning and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, automation solutions, and digital manufacturing tools.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and corporate engineering standards.
  • Manage engineering budgets, contractor activities, and external engineering resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, or related field).
  • 7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
  • Experience leading CAPEX, facility expansion, equipment installation, and manufacturing improvement projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and engineering methodologies.
  • Experience with automation, manufacturing technologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and project costs.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Advanced English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business Administration.
  • Experience in automotive, industrial manufacturing, or high-volume production environments.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience leading brownfield or greenfield projects.
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0, digital transformation, and smart manufacturing technologies.
