For our location in Hanover we are looking for you with immediate effect as an

Intern/Working Student (m/f/d) in FEM Simulation & Battery Development

As part of an internship (minimum six months) or a working student position, you will gain practical experience in simulation-driven product development and battery technology. Working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to innovative projects that support the next generation of energy storage solutions.

You will take on the following tasks

  • Perform structural and dynamic simulations using LS-DYNA for automotive and battery applications, including vibration and dynamic load scenarios

  • Conduct thermal and electro-thermal simulations using ANSYS Workbench and APDL

  • Create and prepare construction models for battery components using SolidWorks, SpaceClaim or Discovery

  • Support the design optimization for our batteries and supercapacitors

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of thermal management systems for Li-ion batteries

  • Develop scripts and automation tools for geometry generation, model automation, and data analysis, including support for AI-based development projects

  • Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) with ANSYS Fluent for flow and heat transfer analysis in battery manufacturing processes

  • Apply multi-physics simulation techniques to analyze grid corrosion, thermal behavior, and structural integrity in battery systems

Your qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an advanced degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, chemistry, or a related technical field

  • Knowledge of ANSYS Fluent and other simulation tools such as ANSYS Workbench is required

  • Programming skills, particularly in Python

  • Experience with CAD and design software such as SolidWorks, SpaceClaim, or Discovery

  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to engineering challenges

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Very good command of English; German language skills are an advantage

  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team

  • Interest in or knowledge of the automotive industry is a plus
