The Role

Support the enhancement and implementation of the LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) system to increase safety levels in hazardous energy isolation, ensuring efficient procedures and proper application across machinery and equipment by 2026.

What You’ll Do (Impact Areas)

  • Contribute to increasing plant safety by optimizing the LOTO system.
  • Perform data collection and analysis of energy sources across mechanical and electrical equipment (new and existing).
  • Conduct field assessments, including:
    • Identification of power sources and disconnect points
    • Mapping of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and gas energy sources
  • Develop and update machine-specific LOTO procedures using tools such as Brady Link360.
  • Support the printing and installation of LOTO procedures on machines and equipment.
  • Create checklists for validation and ongoing compliance tracking.
  • Participate in preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to LOTO procedures.
  • Assist in the update of existing procedures, incorporating machinery or system changes.
  • Verify the effectiveness and applicability of current LOTO procedures in real operational conditions.
  • Validate the integration of PLC systems (e.g., Siemens) with shutdown and energy isolation processes.

  • Reduced risks associated with hazardous energy.
  • Improved compliance and execution of LOTO during maintenance activities.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

  • Active student in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge of electronics and electrical systems
  • Familiarity with PLC systems (preferably Siemens)
  • Basic understanding of industrial control and safety systems
  • Interest in industrial safety and continuous improvement
