The Role

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all plant quality systems comply with IATF 16949, VDA, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customer requirements. The role exists to sustain robust quality systems, develop organization-wide quality awareness, and strengthen a culture of quality that meets increasing customer expectations.

What You’ll Do (Impact Areas)

Quality Systems & Compliance

  • Ensure plant quality systems remain current, effective, and compliant with IATF 16949, VDA, and OEM customer requirements.
  • Maintain and update quality system documentation at workstations.
  • Oversee metrology systems and Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation.

Audits, Customers & Issue Resolution

  • Lead and respond to internal, external, and customer audits.
  • Manage customer complaints, including analysis, quick response, and corrective actions (8D / CAPS).
  • Interface with OEM and aftermarket customers regarding quality performance.

Continuous Improvement & Project Support

  • Participate in new project development from a quality perspective.
  • Administer and validate engineering change implementation.
  • Ensure effective use of quality tools such as AMEF, error proofing, lesson learned, LPA, quick response, and standardized work.

Training & Culture

  • Design and deploy quality training and awareness systems for administrative and operational personnel.
  • Promote a plant-wide culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Laboratory & Safety Integration

  • Supervise chemical and electrical laboratory compliance with applicable standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Systems applicable to the role.
  • Report and stop activities that pose risk to people, facilities, or the environment when detected.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering

Experience

  • Quality systems management in the automotive industry.
  • Manufacturing process knowledge.
  • Leadership of certification and OEM customer audits.
  • Participation in new project quality management.

Technical Expertise

  • IATF 16949 and VDA standards
  • APQP, AMEF, PPAP
  • Six Sigma and quality tools
  • SPC and metrology systems
  • Customer portals (OEM)
  • 8D / CAPS problem-solving methodologies
  • Battery manufacturing knowledge

Languages

  • English: 80% proficiency
