Electronics Engineering Technician

Location: San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo León, Mexico
Job Category: Engineering
Req ID: WD48871

The Role

As an Electronics Engineering Technician, you provide total program-launch support for the design and development of battery electronics and keep the engineering team running — while managing the engineering lab, its equipment, and inventory. From soldering and harness building to board-level testing and prototype delivery, you are hands-on across the full electronics development cycle.

What You’ll Do (Impact Areas)

  • Build & assemble: solder components onto printed circuit boards, assemble wire harnesses, build tester enclosures, and create fixtures and electrical test set-ups that support test activities.
  • Test & troubleshoot: perform board-level testing and troubleshooting, end-of-line / engineering-level testing of battery electronics, and software updates — then report test results.
  • Support prototypes: support prototype programming, calibration, testing, and delivery; assist in prototype builds; and interface with manufacturing.
  • Run the lab: manage lab space, equipment, tools, and component inventory; calibrate equipment; and conduct lab safety audits and reviews.
  • Handle logistics: order equipment, components, and materials, and support the preparation and shipping of products and materials.

What Success Looks Like

  • Reliable, well-documented board-level and end-of-line test results that keep program launches on track.
  • Prototypes programmed, calibrated, tested, and delivered on time.
  • A well-organized, safe, and properly calibrated lab with managed equipment and inventory.
  • Quality fixtures, harnesses, and test set-ups that enable the engineering team’s work.

Core Competencies

  • Hands-on surface-mount electronics assembly and repair.
  • Board-level testing and troubleshooting with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters).
  • Reading engineering drawings and electronics schematics.
  • Strong organization and lab / inventory management.
  • Flexibility and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

Required

  • AAS in Electrical or Electronic Engineering / Engineering Technology — or similar military technical training.
  • 5+ years of related experience in a similar field.
  • Surface-mount electronics assembly and repair experience.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and electronics schematics.
  • Experience with crimping and soldering.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and test plans, perform tests and procedures, and write test reports.
  • Experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and multimeters.
  • Fundamental understanding of software and hardware test tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with basic use of machine tool equipment.
  • Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, and excellent organization skills.

Preferred / Desired

  • Automotive industry experience.
  • High-voltage experience working with up to 400 VDC.
