The Role
The Maintenance Engineer ensures the reliability and availability of plant equipment through the planning, coordination, and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities. This role manages spare parts inventory, supports continuous improvement, ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and quality systems, and collaborates closely with production to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and execute preventive and corrective maintenance routines.
- Monitor and maintain spare parts inventory, including receiving, issuing, and control of stock movements.
- Create purchase requisitions for spare parts and materials in coordination with the maintenance planner to ensure TPM compliance.
- Administer TPM and support MRP processes for maintenance materials.
- Track and report key maintenance indicators (TM, TMEF, TMPR).
- Coordinate with production the scheduling of preventive maintenance for machinery and peripherals.
- Keep updated technical information, equipment specifications, and spare parts data.
- Prepare and use maintenance tools such as plans, templates, manuals, and diagrams.
- Lead and participate in physical inventories of spare parts.
- Control corrective maintenance work orders generated by production shifts.
- Generate and send failure paretos to Maintenance Engineers.
- Participate in continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
- Define and manage service agreements (pólizas de mantenimiento) with external suppliers.
- Attend and clarify technical points with suppliers during quotation processes and follow up with the purchasing team.
- Document and implement specific maintenance procedures and controls.
- Participate in operations meetings to analyze equipment performance.
What Success Looks Like
- Preventive maintenance is executed on time, with high completion rates and reduced equipment failures.
- Spare parts availability supports uninterrupted maintenance activities.
- Maintenance KPIs show improvement in MTBF (TMEF), MTTR (TM), and PM compliance.
- Maintenance documentation and technical archives are complete, updated, and accessible.
- Strong collaboration with Production ensures minimal downtime and efficient planning.
- Safety, environmental, and quality systems are fully implemented in daily maintenance operations.

What You Bring
- Education: Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or similar).
- Experience:
- Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance in manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to TPM, MRP, spare parts management, and maintenance indicators.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Use of maintenance documentation (manuals, diagrams, plans).
- Control of maintenance orders and scheduling.
- Inventory management and interaction with suppliers.
- Certifications/Systems:
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, CAS (Quality–Environment–Safety), and Safety & Health Systems.
- Additional Requirements:
- Ability to stop activities that may pose environmental, safety, or health risks.
- Participation in incident investigations when required.
- Application of 5S in responsible areas.
- Leadership of HPTs, ensuring maturity, scorecard follow-up, and effective meetings.
Work Model & Travel
- On-site role at the Celaya plant.
- Occasional interaction with suppliers or cross-plant activities.
