The Battery Test Technician will be based at our Holland Battery Test Facility located in Holland, MI, and be responsible for conducting product validation testing of our lead-acid batteries.
How you will do it
Verify our batteries meet customer requirements by performing electrical and mechanical test procedures by:
Utilizing battery testing hardware and related software to perform tests, document and communicate test results.
Assisting with solving day-to-day technical problems associated with routine battery testing.
Planning and scheduling work to effectively utilize laboratory resources and balance testing priorities.
Utilizing safe work practices and applicable regulatory requirements. Participating in regular safety meetings and address safety issues with management.
Reporting on project progress to internal customers and management on a predefined cadence.
Establishing and maintain good working customer relationships resulting in excellent customer satisfaction.
Participating in continuous improvement projects which aim to increase the lab’s safety and efficiency.
What we look for
Required
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field with 1 year suggested minimum experience, or an associate’s degree in a STEM-related field with 6 years suggested minimum experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to interpret and apply customer or industry test specifications.
Proficient technical documentation skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously such that business objectives and project timelines are maintained.
Ability to lift/handle batteries weighing 25-50 lbs.
Preferred
Display good lab practices including safety, housekeeping, and record keeping/documentation. Previous 5S experience is preferred.
