The Role
The CAPEX Analyst is responsible for ensuring the financial control, monitoring, and optimization of capital investment project budgets. This role provides financial visibility, supports governance compliance, identifies budget risks, and enables strategic decision-making through timely analysis and accurate reporting. By maintaining financial discipline across the CAPEX portfolio, the position directly contributes to business profitability and operational efficiency.
What You'll Do (Impact Areas)
CAPEX Financial Planning & Control
- Monitor project spending against approved budgets and track actual versus planned expenditures.
- Support the planning, development, monitoring, and control of capital investment project budgets.
- Validate purchase orders, commitments, and expenses against available project budgets.
- Establish and maintain project budget baselines and financial assumptions.
Forecasting & Financial Analysis
- Prepare quarterly and rolling project forecasts.
- Perform variance analysis to identify cost overruns, savings opportunities, and critical deviations.
- Analyze project financial performance and forecast accuracy.
- Support Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews and updates with Project Managers.
Reporting & Governance
- Prepare monthly CAPEX close reports, including actuals, forecasts, KPIs, and executive summaries.
- Develop financial dashboards and maintain internal trackers using ERP systems and reporting tools.
- Monitor compliance with CAPEX governance requirements, including CAR documentation and approval processes.
- Consolidate financial status updates across multiple capital projects and portfolios.
Project & Stakeholder Support
- Provide day-to-day financial support to Project Managers on budget availability, commitments, and project spending.
- Participate in CAPEX portfolio reviews and annual budget planning processes.
- Collaborate with Finance, Controlling, Engineering, and Project teams to ensure alignment and reporting accuracy.
- Support scope change reviews and evaluate financial implications of project modifications.
Compliance & Asset Management
- Manage CAPEX documentation, including invoices, purchase orders, project support files, and audit records.
- Coordinate invoice validation, approvals, and payment flow processes.
- Support fixed asset capitalization activities upon project completion and transfer to operations.
- Monitor aging purchase orders and ensure proper financial closure of completed projects.

- Financial risks and budget deviations are identified early and communicated proactively.
- Forecasts are accurate and provide reliable visibility for business decision-making.
- Monthly reporting is delivered accurately and on time.

- CAPEX governance, documentation, and compliance standards are consistently maintained.

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in:
- CAPEX project financial control.
- Financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
- Capitalization processes.
- Project Management Office (PMO) environments.
- Industrial or manufacturing project environments.
Technical Expertise
- Budget control and financial analysis.
- Forecasting and variance analysis.
- CAPEX approval and governance processes (CAR).
- Advanced Excel, including financial models and dashboards.
- ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, QAD/MFG, or similar.
- General accounting principles and financial reporting.
Languages
- Advanced English proficiency (80% or higher).
Work Model & Travel
- Plant or manufacturing environment with close collaboration across Finance, Engineering, and Project teams.
- No regular travel required.
- No relocation requirement.
